Borges is an outstanding South American author. This is a collection of poems in praise of his hometown, the capital city of Argentina, Buenos Aires.
Unlike other works about the city, this doesn't deal with the usual (stereotypical) topics such as the port districts, tango, Italian and Spanish heritage.
What seems to fascinate Borges lies in its most remote and ordinary suburbs, the intersections at the edge of the pampas, especially when the day is about to end and the colors of twilight seem to promise a change in the infinite repetition of events and phases of life, before everything inevitably starts anew.
